The Pumps Alignment and Study Bench, "PBEAB", has been developed by EDIBON as a comprehensive solution for acquiring real technical skills in the installation, alignment, operation, and analysis of industrial pump behavior. This unit replicates real-world installation conditions, enabling students and professionals to practice essential tasks such as pump disassembly and assembly, motor and shaft alignment using various techniques, and performance evaluation under operational conditions.
The bench features a robust frame with a three-phase asynchronous motor equipped with a frequency inverter. The motor can be moved along three axes for precise pump alignment. It includes accurate instrumentation: pressure gauges at inlet and outlet, a rotameter for flow measurement, and digital displays for monitoring electrical parameters. Optional advanced alignment systems (optical or microprocessor-assisted) can also be integrated.
To operate properly, the "PBEAB" requires the following components:
- PBEAB/WST: The Water Storage and Distribution Tank Unit consists of a large-capacity elevated tank (1.5 m³) with a structural frame, a bottom tank, shut-off and distribution valves. This unit enables closed-loop operation and ensures inlet pressure for centrifugal pumps.
- PBEAB/FC: The Fluid Conduction and Control Unit consists of PVC pipes with corrosion-resistant fittings and valves, allowing the configuration of various hydraulic circuits according to learning objectives.
One of the main strengths of the "PBEAB" system is its ability to be configured according to specific needs. Additionally, it is recommended to work with any of the following pumps:
- PBEAB/SPCW: The Standardized Chemical Pump without Conventional Coupling is ideal for industrial environments where maximum sealing is required without traditional mechanical seals.
- PBEAB/SPCC: The Standardized Chemical Pump with Conventional Coupling allows the study of the classical configuration of centrifugal pumps in compliance with ISO standards.
- PBEAB/EDP: The Electrically Driven Diaphragm Pump enables the analysis of pumping systems without rotating seals, used in processes involving corrosive or sensitive fluids.
- PBEAB/SSCP: The Self-Priming Side Channel Pump allows the study of low flow rates at high pressures and is ideal for understanding the operation of liquids containing gas.
These pumps enable practical comparison of hydraulic behavior, alignment and maintenance requirements, and adaptation to different types of fluids or installations.
If you wish to work with more than one pump, this is also possible—please contact our team for a customized configuration tailored to your needs.
Combined with its required and recommended elements, the "PBEAB" provides a hands-on training environment where students can explore key pumping concepts such as mechanical alignment (via gauge or double dial indicator), flow and pressure measurement, head loss analysis, and monitoring of motor parameters like speed and power. The entire system operates in a closed-loop circuit, ensuring efficient, safe, and sustainable use of water resources.
