General Description
The Computer Controlled Flow Injection Analyzer (FIA), "QRCC-IF", is an additional element recommended to work with the "QRCC" unit, which allows continuous measurement of the degree of conversion in the sucrose hydrolysis reaction. It facilitates on-line analysis of sucrose concentration in the final product, eliminating the need for manual measurements and improving the efficiency of the experimental work.
The Computer Controlled Flow Injection Analysis Kit (FIA) "QRCC-IF" is especially useful to evaluate the Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) technique and to demonstrate the advantages of this method in continuous processes: fast, accurate and automated measurement, without the need to stop the main operation of the "QRCC".
The unit is composed of:
- Computer-controlled 4-channel peristaltic pump, with a working range of 0.01 to 35 ml/min per channel, which simultaneously drives the final product and the reagents necessary for the analysis.
- 6-way injection valve, which allows the precise introduction of the sample volume to be analyzed.
- Helical reactor, where the mixing between the sample and the colorimetric reagents is completed.
- Continuous measuring cell, connected to the spectrophotometer of the "QRCC" unit, where the absorbance reading of the resulting mixture is carried out.
Exercises and guided practices
GUIDED PRACTICAL EXERCISES INCLUDED IN THE MANUAL
- Study of the (FIA) Flow Injection Analysis technique and principles (the additonal recommended element "QRCC-IF" is required).
- Examination of the reproducibility and sensitivity of the (FIA) analysis method as a function of the flow rate and sample concentration (the additonal recommended element "QRCCIF" is required).
