The Extended Surface Heat Transfer Unit for TSTCC, "TXC/SE," allows the study of temperature profiles and heat transfer characteristics on an extended surface. It investigates the effects of adding fins to a body to increase its surface area and achieve a change in the cooling rate. Fins of different materials and cross-sectional shapes are used to analyze the effects on cooling.

Bench-top unit designed to demonstrate the temperature profiles and heat transfer characteristics for an extended surface. It studies the effect of adding fins to a body in order to extend its surface for a change in the cooling rate. Fins of different materials and cross section shapes are used to analyse the effect of cooling.

  9. By using PLC-PI additional 19 more exercises can be done.
  10. Several other exercises can be done and designed by the user.
