多くの生活状況では、工業環境、住宅や温室など、特定の環境条件が必要とされます。空気のパラメータは、要件に応じて特定のインストールの助けを借りて変更することができます。

通常の状態の空気中には、酸素が約23％、窒素が約76％、質量気体や蒸気が約1％含まれています。これらの中で最も重要なのは水蒸気であり、その割合は非常に小さいが、湿った表面や物質からの蒸発速度において基本的に重要である。

エアコンや換気設備は、空気の湿度や温度や圧力などの他のパラメータを変更する責任があります。

空気のパラメータが変更されているので、特定の条件を得るために給湯装置が使用されます。

日常の環境では、水は衛生的な目的（浴室、シャワー）のために加熱され、他の洗浄または加熱目的のために加熱することができます。その後の使用に応じて、水は暖房システムで調整されています。

  • 家庭用の水は、2つの方法で用意することができます。
  • 溜め込みによる：使用目的に応じてタンクに十分なお湯が溜まっています。
  • 瞬間的な加熱によって: 水は炎または熱交換器によって直接加熱されたコイルを通って循環します。

  • 暖房システムは、空気の温度を上げたり、維持したりします。それは3つの部分から構成されています。
  • 熱生産システム：これは、燃料ボイラー、電気抵抗加熱システムまたは別のシステムであることができます。
  • ディストリビューションシステム：水や温風が循環するダクト。
  • 排出システム：ラジエータ、グリル、特定の端子要素。

用途を問わず、どの給湯方式でもエネルギー効率のばらつきが大きいので、評価する必要があります。
