現在の業界でのCompumecatronicsのアプリケーションは、その治療や保存のためにリアルタイムでデータを取得することに基づいています。収集したデータに応じて、プログラマブル・オートマトン(PLC)によるシーケンシャル制御を適用したり、機械の運転パラメータを変更したりして、完全な工業プロセスの監視を行うことができます。この継続的なデータ収集により、シンプルなデータ分析による生産管理が可能になります。コンピュータ制御を行う際に、多くの業界で導入されているシステムの一つにSCADAシステムがあります。SCADAシステムは、コンピュータの画面からプロセスを自動制御します。
