6.2.- PLCの自動化

オートメーションとは、機械や工業プロセスを制御するためにコンピュータ化された電気機械システムを使用することです。プロセスの自動化と制御を可能にする要素の1つは、プログラマブル・ロジック・コントローラ(PLC)またはプログラマブル・オートマトンです。PLCは、産業環境で動作し、自動化された方法で電気機械プロセスを制御するために設計された小型の産業用コンピュータです。PLCは、デジタルおよびアナログのセンサやスイッチから受信したデータに基づいて、小型のワークステーションから完全な産業プロセスまでを制御することができます。

産業およびオートメーションの世界における現在のトレンドは、タブレットやモバイルデバイスの画面上でのSCADAシステムやプロセスモニタリングが重要な意味を持つインダストリー4.0の実装です。機械制御と調整のためのリアルタイムイーサネット通信は、製造プロセスのためのより柔軟で迅速なソリューションを可能にします。もう一つの業界のトレンドは、オペレータと同期して作業できるロボットや協調ロボットシステムの利用で、生産性や工程の効率化が図られています。
