在电子学这样的专业学科中，掌握良好的理论基础，是后续设计和开发复杂电子系统的必要步骤。由于电子学也是工科的一个分支，很多理论概念都有直接的实际应用，如果在理论课上结合相关的实际例子进行教学，就会大大促进电子学学生对概念的吸收。

电子学基础涵盖的内容非常广泛，其中电子电路的分析不能错过（利用欧姆定律、基尔霍夫定律、Thevenin定理、叠加定理、将分析的电路转化为更简单的等效电路等方程和程序）、基本元件的研究（电阻、电感、电容、不同技术的晶体管、二极管、晶闸管、逻辑门等）。)和按功能分组的一组电路(电压源和电流源、低通和高通滤波器、放大电路、电阻电路、不同晶体管极化电路、数字电路介绍、逻辑电路等)。
