13.- UMWELTTECHNIK

Die Umwelt ist ein System, das aus physikalischen, chemischen und biologischen Elementen besteht, die miteinander interagieren und durch natürliche, soziale und kulturelle menschliche Faktoren modifiziert werden. Es ist nicht nur der Raum, in dem sich das Leben entwickelt, sondern umfasst auch Lebende Wesen, Objekte, Wasser, Boden, Luft und die Beziehungen zwischen ihnen. Es ist die Umwelt, die die Art und Weise bestimmt, wie Leben von Gesellschaft.

DieUmweltwissenschaften untersuchen die Umwelt. Umweltingenieurwesen ist ein Bereich und Zweig, der sich auf den Entwurf, die Anwendung und das Management von technologischen Prozessen, Produkten und Dienstleistungen zur Vorbeugung, Kontrolle und Lösung von Problemen der Umweltzerstörung, zur Entwicklung der nachhaltigen Nutzung natürlicher Ressourcen in Produktions- und Verbrauchsprozessen stützt, wobei stets die ausgezeichnete Lebensqualität in unserer Umwelt im Vordergrund steht.

Die Bedeutung der Umwelt liegt in der Tatsache, dass sich alle Lebensformen in ihr und nicht anderswo abspielen, daher sollte ihre Pflege und Erhaltung eines der wesentlichen Elemente menschlichen Handelns sein. Heute gibt es ein wachsendes Bewusstsein für die Bedeutung dieser Handlungen.

Aufgrund des wachsenden Bewusstseins für Umweltprobleme haben nicht nur Einzelpersonen, sondern auch Regierungen und Unternehmen damit begonnen, Aktivitäten zu entwickeln, die darauf abzielen, die Schäden an der Umwelt zu erhalten oder zu begrenzen. So haben einige Disziplinen der Umweltwissenschaften, wie z.B. Hydrologie, Hydrogeologie, Wasser- und Gasbehandlung, Recycling und Verschmutzung unter anderen, große Bedeutung gewonnen.
