11.- CHEMIEINGENIEURWESEN

Chemieingenieurwesen ist der Zweig der Verfahrenstechnik, der die Prozesse umfasst, bei denen physikalische, chemische und/oder biochemische Veränderungen in Materialien auftreten, mit dem Ziel, Rohstoffe in nützliche und wertschöpfende Produkte umzuwandeln. Diese Disziplin umfasst die Untersuchung, Design, Optimierung, Entwicklung und Betrieb der Prozesse, die mit diesen Veränderungen einhergehen. Darüber hinaus hat sie aufgrund ihres weiten Feldes von Forschung und Innovation viele Anwendungen, wie z.B. in der Umwelt, im Design neuer Technologien und Materialien, etc.

Es gilt als Basis vieler anderer Industrien, wie der Energie (hauptsächlich Öl), Pharmazeutischen, Lebensmittel und Elektronik-Industrie unter anderen, was es in einigen Ländern zu einem der wichtigsten Wirtschaftsfaktoren macht.

Jeder chemische Prozess umfasst eine Reihe von Stufen. Jeder dieser Schritte, in denen eine bestimmte Veränderung auftritt, wurde als Einheitsoperation.

Andererseits werden die Prozessschritte, die eine chemische Veränderung der Materie beinhalten, in chemischen Reaktoren durchgeführt. Es handelt sich dabei um Vorrichtungen, die so konstruiert sind, dass sie die notwendigen Bedingungen für die in der Materie erforderliche chemische Veränderung erzeugen.

Aufgrund des breiten Wissens- und Handlungsfeldes des Chemieingenieurs im Laufe der Geschichte der chemischen Verfahrenstechnik und des technologischen Fortschritts im Sinne von Umweltverbesserung, wächst die Rolle des Chemieingenieurs heute weiter und führt u.a. folgende Tätigkeiten aus Ausrüstungs- und Prozessdesign, Montage von Ausrüstungen und Anlagen, Produktionskontrolle, Management, Qualitätskontrolle, UmweltkontrolleKontrolle, Marketing, F und E von Produkten und Prozessen, und viele andere administrative Aufgaben.
