6.- MECATRÔNICA E AUTOMAÇÃO

Mecatrónica e automação são as áreas de engenharia centradas no estudo e desenvolvimento de maquinaria para implementação autónoma e inteligenteprocessos industriais através de computador e electrónicocontrolo. Esta maquinaria foi concebida para aumentar o controlo e a produtividade de um processo industrial, para além de facilitar o trabalho ao ser humano. O controlo de movimento de máquinas e actuadores, o controlo de tempo real de variáveis de um processo e o automatização de PLC aumentam a agilidade e eficiência em relação à produção de uma máquina, e reduzem todas as acções que não acrescentam valor ao produto final ou prolongam os processos.

A necessidade da indústria de automate processos industriais actuais permitiu o desenvolvimento de elementos de controlo, tais como Controladores Lógicos Programáveis (PLC), que aumentam a velocidade e eficiência tanto de processos simples como de processos industriais completos. A incorporação de robôs de montagem em linhas de montagem tem aumentado o volume de trabalho e o ajuste à produção. Além disso, controlo de movimentos tecnologias, tais como servomotores, permitem realizar movimentos precisos em posições específicas, velocidade de controlo ou binário.

O desenvolvimento contínuo de mecatrónica tecnologia está a lançar as bases de sistemas de produção inteligentes, melhorando a qualidade do produto acabado mantendo uma qualidade constante, detectando falhas no momento certo e adaptando a produção ao mercado, aumentando a produção e a flexibilidade das máquinas.
