6.2.- AUTOMATIZAÇÃO PLC

Automação é a utilização de computadorizado e electromecânico sistemas a maquinaria de controlo e processos industriais. Um dos elementos que podem automatar e controlar processos é o Controladores lógicos programáveis (PLC). A PLC é um pequeno computador industrial concebido para trabalhar em ambientes industriais e automatizar processos electromecânicos. Os PLCs são capazes de controlar a partir de pequenas estações de trabalho para completar processos industriais de acordo com os dados que recebem de digital e sensores analógicos e switches.

A tendência actual do mundo industrial e a automação é a implementação de uma Indústria 4.0 onde SCADA sistemas e monitorização de processos em comprimidos ou dispositivos móveis estão a ganhar grande relevância. Real-time Ethernet comunicação para o controlo e coordenação de máquinas permite soluções mais flexíveis e mais rápidas para um processo de fabrico. Outro tendência da indústria é a utilização de sistemas robots e robot colaborativo, capazes de trabalhar sincronizados com os operadores, aumentando a eficiência dos processos e produtividade.

No futuro imediato, o objectivo é integrar o conceito de Indústria 4.0 com o Informação e Tecnologia de Comunicação (TIC) para fazer bom uso das vantagens de IoT (Internet of Things), processo gestão de dados (Grande dados) e armazenamento em nuvem (Cloud) para uma interconexão global de sistemas e dispositivos de produção industrial.
