12.- TEKNOLOGI PANGAN & AIR

Teknologi Pangan adalah disiplin ilmu yang didasarkan pada Ilmu Pangan berdasarkan pengetahuan multidisiplin di bidang gizi, analisis kimia, fisika, biokimia dan teknik. Selain itu, Teknologi Pangan bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat pangan dan fenomena yang terkait dengan kemundurannya, mengembangkan proses produksi pangan dan memperbaiki atribut pangan untuk memuaskan konsumen. Industri makanan meliputi industri transformasi atau pengolahan, pengawetan, dan manufaktur.

Sektor pangan sangat luas sehingga mempengaruhi sektor lain, seperti pembuatan wadah dan pengangkutan, serta membutuhkan pengolahan air untuk pemurniannya.

Teknologi pengolahan air berhasil mendapatkan air minum yang sangat penting bagi kehidupan kita. Air dari sumber yang berbeda (sumur, sungai, laut, air limbah industri) mengalami banyak tahapan, meskipun semua pengolahan biasanya bertepatan dalam tiga tahap dasar: penerimaan air, proses reaksi, serta pengkondisian dan pasokan.
