11.- TEKNIK KIMIA

Teknik kimia adalah cabang dari teknik proses yang mencakup proses di mana fisik, kimia dan/atau biokimia perubahan terjadi pada material, dengan tujuan mengubah bahan mentah menjadi produk yang berguna dan bernilai tambah. Disiplin ini meliputi studi, desain, pengoptimalan, pengembangan dan operasi dari proses yang terlibat dalam perubahan ini. Selain itu, ia memiliki banyak aplikasi mengingat bidangnya yang luas yaitu penelitian dan inovasi, seperti di lingkungan, dalam desain teknologi dan bahan baru, dll.

Ini dianggap sebagai dasar dari banyak industri lain, seperti energi (terutama minyak), farmasi, makanan dan elektronik, yang menjadikannya salah satu faktor ekonomi terpenting di beberapa negara.

Setiap proses kimia menyiratkan serangkaian tahapan. Setiap langkah di mana perubahan tertentu terjadi ini telah didefinisikan sebagaoperasi unit.

Di sisi lain, tahapan proses yang melibatkan perubahan kimiawi dalam materi dilakukan di reaktor kimia. Mereka adalah perangkat yang dirancang untuk menghasilkan kondisi yang diperlukan untuk perubahan kimia yang diperlukan dalam masalah ini.

Mereka dapat mengembangkan aktivitas pekerjaannya di industri seperti: petrokimia, kilang, industri batubara, biokimia, bioteknologi, material, energi, farmasi, dll.
