9.7.- PENUKAR PANAS

Penukar panas adalah perangkat mekanis yang dirancang untuk mentransfer panas antara dua fluida. Panas dapat ditransfer melalui kontak antar fluida atau melalui dinding padat yang memisahkannya. Mereka adalah elemen dasar dalam sistem pendingin dan AC.

Penukar panas kontak langsung adalah yang panas ditransfer melalui gesekan dua arus. Exchanger jenis ini digunakan bila setelah proses transfer cairan mudah dipisahkan, misalnya di menara pendingin.

Kontak tidak langsung penukar panas memiliki dinding pemisah yang memisahkan dua fluida, menghasilkan perpindahan panas melalui konveksi dan konduksi. Ada dua subgrup dalam pertukaran kontak tidak langsung:

  • Alternatif: fluida melewati ruang yang sama secara bergantian. Fluida panas memindahkan panas ke permukaan dan diserap oleh dingin saat bersentuhan dengan permukaan.
  • Permukaan: panas ditransfer melalui penghalang padat yang memisahkan fluida. Mereka paling tersebar luas di semua jenis sistem. Bergantung pada permukaan pemisahnya, mereka dapat:
  • Pelat penukar panas: permukaan pemisah adalah dinding yang datar.
  • Penukar tabung: permukaan pemisah adalah dinding tabung. Sebuah fluida bersirkulasi melalui interior dan tabung lain ditempatkan di luar tempat fluida lain bersirkulasi. Menurut arah arus, terdapat aliran arus cocurrent dan arus berlawanan.

Menurut konstruksinya, ada konfigurasi penukar panas yang tak terhitung banyaknya, tetapi yang paling umum adalah tabung selubung, tabung konsentris dan piring penukar panas.

Terlepas dari sistem AC, penukar panas ditemukan di industri apa pun. Beberapa contohnya adalah industri maritim, pengolahan permukaan, industri makanan, industri kimia dan pembangkit listrik tenaga nuklir.
