6.2.- OTOMASI PLC

Otomatisasi adalah penggunaan sistem yang terkomputerisasi dan elektromekanis untuk mesin kontrol dan proses industri. Salah satu elemen yang dapat mengotomatiskan dan mengontrol proses adalah Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). PLC adalah komputer industri kecil yang dirancang untuk bekerja di lingkungan industri dan mengotomatiskan proses elektromekanis. PLC dapat mengontrol dari workstation kecil hingga menyelesaikan proses industri sesuai dengan data yang mereka terima dari sensor digital dan analog dan sakelar.

Tren saat ini dunia industri dan otomatisasi adalah implementasi dari Industri 4.0 di mana sistem SCADA dan pemantauan proses pada tablet atau perangkat seluler mendapatkan relevansi yang besar. Komunikasi Ethernet waktu-nyata untuk kontrol dan koordinasi mesin memungkinkan solusi yang lebih fleksibel dan lebih cepat untuk suatu proses produksi. Tren industri lainnya adalah penggunaan sistem robot dan robot kolaboratif, yang mampu bekerja secara tersinkronisasi dengan operator, meningkatkan efisiensi proses dan produktivitas.

Dalam waktu dekat ini, tujuannya adalah untuk mengintegrasikan konsep Industri 4.0 dengan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) untuk memanfaatkan keuntungan dari IoT (Internet of Things), proses pengelolaan data (Big Data) dan penyimpanan cloud (Awan) untuk interkoneksi global perangkat dan sistem produksi industri.
