The Refrigeration or Heating Water Recirculation Advanced Unit, "TERA/A", designed by EDIBON, is a reversible heat pump that allows heating and cooling of a volume of water for the study of heat transfer and fluid temperature control.

By using a constant water flow (cold or hot), it is possible to modify, through indirect contact between flows, the temperature conditions of a second circulating flow or of a certain static volume contained in a given vessel.

It is a recirculating heat pump designed to provide a continuous supply of chilled or heated water at the temperature required by the user. At the top, it has a water storage tank. At the bottom, there are two centrifugal pumps for water circulation and the reversible heat pump. Water flows by gravity from the storage tank to pump 1. Pump 1 drives the water to the chiller, and once cooled, the water is returned to the tank (recirculation circuit used until the set temperature is reached). Pump 2, also connected to the tank, draws water and drives it to the external circuit to be cooled or heated, allowing flow control through the different ball valves located at the outlet. This pump 2 enables water circulation and flow adjustment to multiple units of the EDIBON range—such as heat exchangers, reactors, etc.—quickly and easily.
