생체 역학은 인체의 움직임을 포함하여 생물체의 움직임 역학을 연구합니다. 이 연구는 직장이나 스포츠 활동과 같은 일상 생활의 가장 단순한 움직임에서 심장과 같은 일부 내부 장기의 움직임에 이르기까지 다양합니다. 인체 역학을 연구하기 위해 생체 역학은 역학 원리와 해부학 및 생리학 지식을 적용하여 새로운 진단 및 치료 기기를 설계하고 더 나은 보철 및 임플란트 설계를 개발할 수 있습니다.

현재 Biomechanics는 관절과 근육 조합의 다양한 움직임을 분석합니다. 이러한 분석을 통해 인체에 가해지는 하중과 스트레스를 연구 할 수 있습니다. 인간 운동학에 대한 지식은 부상 치료 및 후속 재활, 움직임의 유연성을 허용하는 보철 설계, 신체 활동의 성능을 높이기위한 새로운 스포츠 기술 검색 또는 신체의 악화를 방지합니다. 직장과 집에서 활동할 때. 이 모든 지식은 생체 역학의 여러 영역으로 나눌 수 있습니다 : 의료 생체 역학, 스포츠 생체 역학 및 직업 생체 역학.
