General Description

The "RYC-CLM" Magnetic Levitation Control module has been designed to study a practical control system.

The "RYC-CLM" module consists of two main components: the "RYC-CLM" apparatus and the "RYCCLM" interface box. The "RYC-CLM" apparatus contains all the sensors and actuators such as electromagnet, current sensor, position sensor, etc. The "RYC-CLM" interface box contains all necessary components for power supplying, signal conditioning, etc.

The components are used in conjunction with the "RYC" unit to control the vertical position of the metallic ball through the control of the feeding current of the electromagnet.

GUIDED PRACTICAL EXERCISES INCLUDED IN THE MANUAL

  1. Familiarization with the main module components.
  2. Study the linear model system.
  3. Study the Non-linear model system.
  4. Control of the ball position.
  5. Analyze the transient response of the system.
  6. Study the control of the ball position through a PD and PID controller.
  7. Setting and optimizing the parameters of the PID control.
  8. Analysis of the different responses of the system to modifications of PID parameters.
