General Description

The Precision Pressure Gauge Calibrator, "HCMP", is a self-contained and portable dead weight precision pressure gauge calibrator.

The unit allows the calibration of pressure gauges up to 300 bar. Calibration is accurate within ± 0.015 % of reading.

The pressure in the unit is produced by turning a jackscrew that reduces the fluid volume inside the calibrator, resulting in increased pressure. When the pressure generated by the reduced volume is slightly higher than that generated by the weights on the piston, the piston will rise until it reaches a point of equilibrium where the pressures at the gauge and at the bottom of the piston are exactly equal. Mineral oil is used as the hydraulic fluid.

The pressure developed is applied to the gauge that is to be calibrated.

A spirit level (or bubble level) and rotating foot studs are provided to enable the student to level the unit.

The unit is supplied with a set of weights, a set of adapters for the pressure gauges, spare seals and a bottle of oil.

A laboratory calibration certificate is supplied for each piston together with a traceable certificate of overall accuracy.
