ALLGEMEINE BESCHREIBUNG

The Compression Refrigeration Unit with Different Expansion Valves, "TCREV", is a unit designed for the study of thermodynamic cycles (refrigeration cycle and heat pumps cycle) with different expansion elements.

The unit includes all the components required for a fully operational refrigeration circuit, such as hermetic compressor, condenser, evaporator and different expansion elements: manual expansion valve, thermostatic expansion valve and capillary tube.

A four-ways reversing valve allows reversing the cycle and changing the operation of the refrigeration cycle to heat pump cycle. In both cases a programmable electronic thermostat operates on a solenoid valve to cut the cycle above or below the required temperatures in each case.

The evaporator and the condenser are finned tube heat exchangers. In both exchangers there are three transparent tubes to observe the change of state of the coolant during the evaporation and the condensation.

The main factors involved in the cycle can be measured: coolant flow, compressor power and pressure and temperature in key points of the cycle.

The circuit also includes a sight glass to observe the state of the coolant fluid, a filter, a storage vessel to ensure a proper flow of coolant in the circuit and a liquid separator to prevent liquid from entering the compressor.

As a safety measure, the circuit includes a high pressure switch and a low pressure switch.
